Sprinkle a Little Salt and Let Your Love Light Shine this Holiday Season

If you read my blog or listen to my podcasts then you know service is my passion.

This passion led to the creation of our Salt & Light SERVE Spotlight segment. In this series, we feature a different community outreach program, individual, or small business each month. Our hope is to bring awareness to the good works of these amazing organizations and encourage support.

With the Salt & Light SERVE Spotlight series, my goal has been to encourage other families, homeschoolers, public schoolers, and private schoolers alike, to make consistent service a healthy habit. Encouraging others holds me accountable for the service efforts of my home.

Recently, my podcast celebrated its first birthday. I am both humbled and proud of this accomplishment.

Yet when I really think about it, its success has nothing to do with me. In fact, it’s not about me at all.

It’s about two principles: walking in obedience and fulfilling the Great Commission.

Happy 1st Birthday It’s Only Homeschooling Podcast

On this journey, I have met some amazing people all working to make their communities a better place through one act of service at a time.

With the holiday season upon us, I invite your family to join my family in making service a healthy habit.

If you are not sure where to begin, check out one of our blog posts or listen to one of our podcast episodes from our Salt & Light SERVE Spotlight series for inspiration.

Acts of service do not have to look like the grand gestures you see featured in our episodes. The smallest bits of kindness often carry the greatest weight.

So sprinkle a little salt and let your love light shine!

You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.Matthew 5:13-16
