Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

The Salt & Light SERVE Spotlight Podcast Replay
The Salt & Light SERVE Spotlight is a podcast series sponsored by It’s Only Homeschooling. This series highlights the service efforts of some amazing non-profit organizations, community outreach programs, individuals, and small businesses local to the DFW area and from across the globe. Each month we feature a different nominee and hope to bring awareness to some amazing humans’ good works while encouraging support.
Currently, our podcast is on hiatus. Over our break, we have enjoyed revisiting episodes from the past eighteen months. During this time of reflection, we remain humbled and amazed to play a small role in the grander picture of service and in fulfilling The Great Commission.
We continue to work behind the scenes supporting these amazing charities, individuals, small businesses, and organizations through social media promotion, donations, and sponsorships.
Pausing to Reflect
In honor of Poverty Awareness Month this January, we are revisiting our featured guest from January 2023, H.earts I.n M.otion (H.I.M.). H.earts I.n M.otion is an outreach organization that has been serving communities in the United States and Central and South America for over thirty years.
During that time, H.I.M. has not only rebooted its outreach efforts post-COVID but also expanded them. Recently, H.earts I.n M.otion launched its first podcast, Stories of H.earts I.n M.otion.
Hearts in Motion has served the people of Central America and the United States since 1993. Along the way, we have been lucky to be a part of so many different stories of hope and light in our world. We wanted to take time to share these stories with others. We hope you enjoy listening to them as much as we’ve enjoyed reliving them.

Putting Our Best Feet Forward
Every journey begins with a single step.

Since mailing our first box of donated orthotics to H.I.M. a year ago, we continue to be humbled by our community’s support of our little homeschool service project.
In partnership with our orthotist from Grace Rehab, our therapy team at Therapedia Keller, LLC, and the countless loving parents who generously donated gently used braces, we are honored to continue our work in providing the gift of mobility.
Ways You Can Help
Our little homeschool service project, aided by the support of our community, is one small way we honor God by sharing our blessings. For our family, it provides life lessons beyond the classroom about moral responsibility, fulfilling the Great Commission, kindness, and global poverty awareness.
Essential life skills and academic subjects aside, what better way to teach our children character education, good citizenship, gratitude, empathy, and stewardship than through a service project?
Service does not have to look like the grand gestures you have seen us highlight in our Salt & Light SERVE Spotlight series. Outreach can come in many forms. The smallest gesture of kindness can carry the greatest weight.
There are numerous ways to support the ministry at H.earts I.n M.otion. If you live in the Schererville, Indiana area, consider volunteering to work in the Resale Shoppe. Cull gently used items of household furniture, clothing, and household goods for donation to support the New Directions Program.
You can support H.I.M. with a click of your mouse! Purchase crucial needed items from their Wish Lists, buy H.I.M. merchandise in its online store, or offer monetary donations or sponsorship to support one of its many programs.
Want to travel and help others in the process? Consider participating in its international impact by embarking on one of its mission trips. For more information on how to become a part of their mission outreach, click here.
